Valentine's Day 2027 in Dubai: What's Different This Year

Two things make Valentine's Day 2027 different in Dubai, and both affect when your flowers should arrive.

It falls on a Sunday. Most offices in Dubai are closed on Sundays, so your partner is more likely to be at home than at work. If you want flowers delivered to an office, book for Friday, 12 February instead.

It falls during Ramadan. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February (reported by UAE news sources, subject to the moon sighting), which puts Valentine's Day in the first week of the holy month. Flowers are still delivered as normal - here's how to plan:

• Avoid the hour before sunset. Roads are busiest as people head home for iftar (sunset is around 6:15-6:20 PM in mid-February). Morning and early-afternoon slots are the most reliable.
• Think about the recipient's evening. If your partner or their family is fasting, an evening delivery right at iftar time can be awkward - a morning delivery, or a slot later in the evening, usually works better.
• Restaurant and hotel surprises. Many restaurants run iftar and suhoor menus during Ramadan, and opening hours change. Confirm your booking before scheduling a delivery there.

Planning the Surprise: Home, Office, Hotel or Restaurant

At home. The safest option on a Sunday. Add the recipient's phone number so the driver can call from the lobby or gate - in towers, building security will usually call up first.

At the office. Since 14 February 2027 is a Sunday, book office deliveries for Friday 12 February instead. Add the company name, floor and a colleague who can receive it if needed. During Ramadan, many offices work shorter hours, so choose a morning slot.

At a hotel. Give the guest's name exactly as booked. Flowers are handed to the front desk or concierge and taken to the room.

At a restaurant. Confirm with the restaurant that they'll accept and hold the flowers, and give us the name of the reservation. Ramadan opening hours may differ, so check them first.
