How Hospital Flower Delivery Works
- Check with the family that the patient can receive flowers, and which ward they're in.
- Choose a hospital-friendly design: compact, low-scent, and arriving in a box or vase.
- Enter the details at checkout: the patient's full name as registered at the hospital, the hospital name and branch, the ward, floor and room number if known, and a family member's mobile number.
- Pick a daytime delivery slot. Many hospitals accept deliveries at reception only during the day.
- We'll call ahead to confirm the best way to hand the flowers over at that hospital - usually to reception or patient services, or to a family member - and keep you updated on WhatsApp.
If the patient has been discharged, or the ward can't accept flowers, message us on WhatsApp as soon as you know - we'll work out the best option with you, such as redelivering to a home address, rather than leaving it to guesswork.
Are Flowers Allowed in Hospitals in Dubai?
Generally, yes. Most wards in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman accept flowers. But rules vary by hospital and by ward:
| Ward | What to expect |
|---|---|
| General and private rooms | Flowers are usually welcome - choose low-scent designs for shared rooms |
| Maternity | Usually welcome for the new mother - see our new baby flowers |
| Intensive care (ICU) | Visitors are restricted, and flowers are often not allowed at the bedside - send flowers home instead, or wait until the patient moves to a ward |
| Neonatal intensive care (NICU) | Restricted to parents at many hospitals - send flowers to the mother's room or home |
| Isolation or oncology units | Often no fresh flowers or plants because of infection risk - ask the family first |
What hospitals publish: Dubai Health allows a maximum of two visitors per patient at a time and doesn't allow children under 12 in intensive care units. Mediclinic City Hospital's visiting hours are 10 AM to 9 PM, its NICU is restricted to parents, and ICU entry is restricted. Aster Hospitals' ICU visiting hours are 7-8 AM and 6-7 PM, and its NICU is open to mothers and fathers only.
Policies can change, so check with the hospital or the patient's family before sending.
What to Send to Someone in Hospital
Send: compact arrangements that fit on a bedside table, low-scent flowers such as gerberas, tulips, roses and orchids, and designs that arrive in a box or vase, because wards rarely have spare vases.
Avoid: strongly scented flowers such as lilies and tuberose in shared rooms, potted plants with soil for patients with weakened immune systems, very large arrangements (rooms have limited space, and nurses need clear surfaces), and food without checking with the family first.

Best Time to Deliver Flowers to a Hospital
- Deliver during visiting hours, usually late morning to evening - Mediclinic City Hospital, for example, allows visitors from 10 AM to 9 PM.
- Avoid early mornings, when doctors do their rounds.
- For surgery, send flowers for the day after, when the patient is more likely to be awake and settled.
- Midnight delivery isn't suitable for hospitals - choose a daytime slot instead.
