Flowers for a Baby Boy, a Baby Girl, or Either
| For | Colours | Flowers |
|---|---|---|
| Baby boy | Soft blue and white | Blue-tinted roses, white roses, hydrangeas |
| Baby girl | Pink and white | Pink roses, pink tulips, pink gerberas |
| Not sure, or twins | Cream, peach, pale yellow, soft green | White roses, hydrangeas, pastel mixes |
Not sure if it's a boy or a girl? Many parents in the UAE share the news only with close family at first. A neutral pastel bouquet is always safe, and you can add an "It's a Boy" or "It's a Girl" balloon bouquet once you know.
Choosing Flowers for a New Mum and Baby
A newborn's room needs a little extra thought:
- Choose low-scent flowers. Roses, tulips, gerberas and hydrangeas are gentle. Strongly scented flowers such as lilies can be overwhelming in a small room.
- Avoid heavy pollen. Lilies shed bright pollen that stains and can irritate. If you love lilies, send them to the family home rather than the maternity room.
- Go compact. Maternity rooms are busy with visitors, gifts and baby things - a box or small vase fits on a bedside table.
- Arrive ready to display. Wards rarely have spare vases, so choose a box or a vase arrangement.
- Skip potted plants with soil in hospital.
Sending Flowers to the Maternity Ward
Maternity wards in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman generally welcome flowers for the new mother. Neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) are different: many are open to parents only, so send flowers to the mother's room or the family home instead.
For hospital delivery, give us: the mother's full name as registered (not the baby's), the hospital, ward and room number if known, and a family member's mobile number.
Timing tip: stays after a birth can be short. If you're not sure the mother will still be in hospital, send the flowers home, or tell us at checkout and we'll work it out with you.
We deliver to maternity units across the three emirates. See the full hospital list and ward rules in our hospital flower delivery guide.
New Baby Flowers and Gifts
Add something extra and we'll deliver it together: an "It's a Boy" or "It's a Girl" balloon bouquet, a soft teddy bear for the baby, chocolates for the parents and their visitors, or a cake for the celebration at home. All gifts are alcohol-free.

Welcome Home and Aqiqah Flowers
Welcome home. Flowers waiting at the door are a lovely surprise when the family brings the baby home. Choose a scheduled delivery for the day they're discharged.
Aqiqah gatherings. Many Muslim families celebrate a new baby with an aqiqah, often around the seventh day after birth, with family and friends at home. A larger arrangement or a pair of matching vases suits the occasion.
New Baby Card Messages
In English: "Congratulations on your beautiful baby! Wishing you all the love in the world." · "Welcome to the world, little one. Congratulations to the proud parents!" · "So happy for you both. Can't wait to meet the newest member of the family."
In Arabic: "مبروك ما جاكم، الله يخليه لكم ويتربى في عزكم" (Congratulations on your new arrival; may God keep him for you and may he grow up in your care.) For a girl: "مبروك ما جاكم، الله يخليها لكم وتتربى في عزكم"
New Baby Flowers: Frequently Asked Questions
Can you deliver new baby flowers the same day in Dubai?
Yes. Choose a same-day delivery slot at checkout in Dubai, Sharjah or Ajman, to the hospital or the family's home.
What flowers are best for a new baby?
Low-scent flowers in soft colours work best: blue and white for a boy, pink and white for a girl, and pastels for either. Roses, tulips, gerberas and hydrangeas are good choices; avoid strongly scented lilies in a newborn's room.
Can I send flowers to the maternity ward?
Yes. Maternity wards generally welcome flowers for the new mother. Give us her full name as registered, the hospital, the ward and room number, and a family member's phone number. NICUs are usually restricted to parents, so send flowers to the mother's room or home instead.
What if the mother has already gone home?
Message us on WhatsApp as soon as you know, and we'll work out the best option with you, such as redelivering to the family's home.
What should I send if I don't know whether it's a boy or a girl?
Choose a neutral pastel bouquet in cream, peach or soft green, or white roses with hydrangeas.
Can I add a balloon or teddy bear?
Yes. Add a soft teddy bear, or an "It's a Boy" or "It's a Girl" balloon bouquet, at checkout and we'll deliver it with the flowers.
How much do new baby flowers cost?
Our new baby bouquets start from AED 175. Delivery is free on orders over AED 200.
Are blue roses natural?
No. Blue roses are white roses tinted blue - no rose is naturally blue, but tinted roses last just as long as untinted ones.
